YouTube star Logan Paul causes outrage with latest video

YouTube star Logan Paul, who has more than 15 million subscribers, has been the subject of strong criticism following a controversial video he posted in Japan which showed the body of a suicide victim in the background.

The video was filmed at the Aokigahara forest which is known worldwide as a suicide spot. Although no exact statistics are available there are signs in the forest which urge people to opt for seeking medical help over committing suicide. Japan in itself has one of the highest suicide rates in the world.

The video showed Logan Paul and his friends wandering around the forest until they stumbled upon a man’s body which prompted a shock reaction from Paul and his friends while they also joked about the matter.

Paul has since posted another video on his twitter account to apologize for his “embarrassing” post and expressed his deep regret for posting the video while admitting that he is very disappointed and ashamed of himself.

The video was followed by a long apologetic statement which he also posted on his twitter account.

He tried to explain himself by claiming that his decision to post the video was motivated by his desire to raise awareness about suicide. People’s reaction on twitter would suggest that most of them did not buy that excuse.

Since Monday, American Logan Paul has been one of the biggest talking points on twitter and it has been overwhelmingly negative.

A lot of people expressed their strong opinion about Logan Paul’s irresponsible and immoral post. Some people even went as far as claiming that the consequence of the video should be that Paul’s entire YouTube channel should be removed.
